Student Thoughts on Social Media

It is no secret that social media has become the wave of the future, and it is not suprising that businesses are now wanting to get in on the ride. Twitter ids, facebook professional groups, and PRopenmic users are popping up every second. However, as a student in Justin Pettigrew's press writing classs in the UGA PR department, I can't help but ask myself if these social media tactics will really corespond into big bucks for companies, or if this is just another "fad" that will fade back into their beginnings as ways to connect socially with classmates, coworkers, and long-lost friends.
